Will of Peter Hoke, York Co., PA., OC/L 201-205, made Dec.12, 1804, probated Jan. 5, 1805. :-

In the Name of God, Amen. I Peter Hoke the elder, of West Manchester Township in the County of York and State of Pennsylvania, being sick, and weak of body, but yet of good and sound memory and understanding, blessed be God for the same make, publish and declare, this as for my Last Will and Testament. Firstly and principally I commit my Soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it me, and my Body to the dust from whence it was taken. My Wills is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid immediately after my decease. To my wife Dorothy, I give, grant, will and allow, the choice and election of every or any of my household or kitchen Furniture. I also give and bequeath to her my said wife, the sum of forty eight pounds lawful money of Pennsylvania, to be paid to her during her natural life for which purpose I order and direct my executors hereinafter named or the Survivor of them, to put or place the sum of eight hundred pounds out of my estate on interest and they or Survivor or Survivors of them are enjoined to pay said interest yearly during her natural life.
I also give and bequeath unto my said Wife Dorothy, the sum of one hundred pounds, lawful money as aforsaid to be paid to her immediately after my decease over and above what is above mentioned.
I give and bequeath to my Son Michael the sum of one thousand and four hundred pounds to be paid to him as soon as conveniently may be after my decease, deducting therefrom  what he has already from me received.
To my Son Peter I have conveyed a Plantation which I purchased of the Heirs of George Krantz deceased, at the rate of three thousand three hundred and thirty pounds, out of which my Son Peter is to have and retain the sum of one thousand and four hundred pounds, and what ever sum or sums he has paid to me or the Heirs of George Krantz deceased, are to be deducted out of the purchase money.
To my Son Jacob I give and devise the Plantation and tract of Land, which was lately surveyed by John Eichelberger Deputy Surveyor, and bounded as follows, to wit, adjoining to the Lands of Peter Ziegler, Peter Bott, Adam Wolff, John Emig, Valentin Emig, Peter Sprinkel my other lands and Jacob Smyser, containing two hundred and forty acres and allowance, To hold same with the appurtenances, unto him my said Son Jacob his heirs and assigns for ever, Subject to the payment of two thousand and five hundred pounds deducting from therefrom the sum of one thousand and four hundred pounds which is hereby given and bequeathed him, and also deducting the several payments he has already made to me, the residue or remainder to be paid in payments of one hundred pounds yearly.
I give devise and bequeath to my Son  George and to his heirs and assigns forever all that certain Farm Plantation and my now dwelling place, adjoining to Lands of Jacob Smyser, Michael Smyser, John Brubacher, Frederick Eichelberger, Peter Sprenkel and my other Lands, To hold the same to him the said my Son George Hoke his heirs & assigns forever, subject to the payment of the sum of Three thousand, three hundred and thirty three pounds lawful money aforsaid, deducting therefrom the sum of one thousand and four hundred pounds, which is hereby given and bequeathed to him, the residue or remainder to be paid in payments of One hundred pounds yearly.
I give, bequeath  and order the sum of one thousand pounds, to be held in the hands of my Executors, who are to apply the same towards the maintaining my Daughter Gloria, and her Children at their discretion deducting  out of that sum what she hath from me already received.
I give and bequeath to my Daughter Catherine the sum of one thousand pounds of like money aforsaid, deducting therout and therefrom what she hath already received from me.
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Sabina intermarried with John Pentz the sum of One thousand pounds, of like money aforsaid, on these conditions nevertheless, that my Executors at their discretion apply and pay the same over to my said Daughter or her Heirs, deducting therout and therefrom such sums that she hath already received from me.
I give and bequeath to my Daughter Mary intermarried with Andrew Schreiber the sum of One thousand pounds of like money aforsaid, deducting therout and therefrom what she hath already received from me.
I also will that my Executors permit, allow and suffer  my said Daughter Sabina, to live in and enjoy the Northern part of my House with the appurtenances thereto belonging, situate on the East side of Beaver Street in the Borough of York.
I also will that my Executors permit allow and suffer my said Daughter Gloria, to live in and enjoy the Southern part of my House with the appurtenances thereto belonging, situate on the East side of Beaver Street in the Borough of York, which above mesuage are intended to be by my said Daughters enjoyed during the pleasure of my Executors.
All other my real or personal Estate not before bequeathed, I order and direct, to be sold by my Executors, as to them may seem most advantageous, and the monies arising thereby, I give and bequeath and order to be divided in the following manner."
