Children of Anna Quickel and Michael BENTZ surnamed BENTZ:
Narrative on Michael Bentz including his
Baptismal Record, Census Entries:
Michael Bense's birth and baptism is found within the records of Quickel's Church [the church founded and placed on land donated by his maternal grandfather Michael QUICKEL] in Conewago Twp, York County, Penna, where his parents are clear, but no sponsors are given. He was 28 years old in Ap 13 1818.when he married Anna Quickel , by record of Christ Lutheran of York, York County 11 the charter for which church had been signed by his grandfather Johannes Bentz in York, Pa. September 1733. ìMichael of York Boroughî [York Co, Penna] was the administrator of father Peter BENTZ's estate, his father having died in 1823, where his brother John is mentioned also as being of Hellam Twp. By 1830 a growing family in the home of Michael Bentz in the South Ward of York Borough is evident in the 1830 census where only Michael is mentioned by name. By the 1850 Census for York Borough, South Ward his family members still living with him are named and he is shown a merchant. Children of Michael BENTZ and Anna QUICKEL Bentz are mentioned in the Keller Bible, the information of which was communicated to D M Swope by Amy Swope Wing, and cited to a "Mrs Keller of York" then holding that bible having viewed by Amy [1893-1980]. Baptismal records of the children, when found, are located in Christ Lutheran where Michael and Anna married. He is mentioned in theAdministrative Bond related to his fatherís estate: 2H 17 My 10, 1823. Estate of Peter Bentz of Conewago Township. Michael of York Borough & John Bentz of Hellam Township, administrators, sons of decedent. Tenet in $2000. Widow renounced. Inventory & Vendue List filed Ag 20 1823.
