Mentioned in both his father and step mother's will. His father Michael's will was proved July 29, 1788 and this son is mentioned only as Michael. Michael's step mother Barbara mentions Michael as well. Two children married the descendants of our direct SWOPE and HOKE forebears.

John HOKE was son of our direct Jacob Hoke, while Maria Sabina Swope is daughter of our direct John SWOPE and his second wife GROVE.

Barbara (1789-1845) married John (Col.) HOKE (1778-1845) . THIS IS AN INDEPENDENTLY RESEARCHED AND SECURE UNION.

Member of the Militia of NC, John Hoke is the son of son of John HOKE and Maria Sabina SWOPE. . John HOKE the father was son of our direct Jacob Hoke, while Maria Sabina Swope is daughter of our direct John SWOPE and his second wife GROVE.
