17. 1850 Census, Gettysburg Borough, Adams Co., Penna. Head of Household
Adam SWOPE. Lydia was dead by this census, but her husband and children
are evident within it. Other members of household: Clarissa
his daughter 45 years old (name would be illegible minus prior knowledge),
Spangler (apparantly how his son Conrad Spangler called himself) then 42
and a Cegar (or Segar?) Maker, son George, 35 and a Cabinet maker,
and son David, a 24 year old Student. The family group resided next to
the Butcher Nicholas Kodori, and on the other side, the Coach Painter Eli
Bentley. Lydia was dead by this census, but her husband and children are
evident within it.
